Personal

I was born in Bursa, Turkey. During college years spent in Ankara, I have lived in Tampere, Finland for a semester and in Istanbul for a summer. Then, I spent 5 years in Washington, D.C. . Since August 2012, I have been living in Austin, Texas. I enjoy travelling and sports. My favourite cities so far are San Diego, Barcelona, Quebec City and Istanbul.
My last international travel was to Hong Kong and Thailand, March 2017. Below is a photo from Rio during the World Cup, July 2014
In the U.S., I had the chance to travel around 33 states. Here is my conquest attempt (literally) of Texas beaches in Port Aransas, September 2014.
My family lives in Turkey, below are some photos from their last visit: 9

In addition to visiting them, cuisine and this little dude, my nephew Kivanc, are the main reasons I frequent Turkey during my semester breaks.
Having grown up in Turkey, soccer and basketball have been a huge part of my childhood. My favorite team is Galatasaray, below is a glorious moment while eliminating Juventus from 2013 UEFA Champions League:
After moving to U.S., I have been cheering for my adopted home-town teams Wizards and RedSkins. And I have been in the LeBron bandwagon since I have watched the King against Wizards in 2008.
Nowadays, I have been running more often and trying to learn how to sail motivated by this view.
